Mods & Plugins
Installing plugins
Adding Bukkit/Spigot/Paper plugins to your server.
Plugins require a Bukkit-family server (Paper is recommended). Vanilla Minecraft does not load plugins — create the server as Paper first.
Picking Paper
Choose Paper in the Minecraft type step when creating the server. Self-serve switching from Vanilla or a mod loader to Paper is not exposed yet; if you need to convert an existing server, open a support ticket first so we can help you back it up.
Installing from CurseForge
- Open the server, then go to Mods & Plugins.
- Select Plugins.
- Search the CurseForge/Bukkit catalog.
- Select a project, pick a compatible file, and click Install to plugins/.
- Restart the server so the plugin loads.
The page also shows installed plugins and lets you remove catalog-installed or detected files.
Manual plugin upload
If a plugin is not available through the catalog, download the plugin's .jar from its official source, open Files → plugins/, upload the file, and restart the server. Browser uploads are limited to 100 MB per file during beta.
The plugin will create a config folder under plugins/<name>/ on first run.
Where to get plugins
- Hangar — Paper's official plugin index.
- SpigotMC — large catalog, varying quality. Be cautious with paid resources and unknown authors.
Avoid plugins from random Discords or YouTube tutorials — supply chain risk is real.
