Troubleshooting

Connection issues

Players can't connect. What to check.

If a player can't reach your server, walk through this in order.

1. Is the server actually running?

Check the dashboard. If it says Stopped or Starting, that's your answer.

2. Right address?

Confirm they're using exactly the address shown in the panel's Connection box, including the port (:25565 or whatever you've been assigned).

3. Right Minecraft version?

A 1.20.4 client cannot connect to a 1.20.1 server (usually). Make sure their client version matches your server.

4. Whitelist?

If your server is whitelisted, the player needs to be on the list. The error message they see will say "You are not whitelisted on this server".

5. Bans?

/banlist from the console. If they're on it, that's that.

6. Geographic / network problem

If one specific player can't connect but others can, it's almost always something between them and us — their ISP, a VPN, a weird DNS resolver. Have them try a different network or a tethered phone connection.

7. We're under attack

Rare, but possible. Check the status page and/or open a support ticket.
